This should be a destination marathon. The island is very nice in the off season. There were several first time issues that hopefully will be addressed. It's a point to point with school bus/traffic logistic challenges. The race started more than a few minutes late waiting for the last bus. Marathoners could have used the time on the back end because of the (expected) heat. There was no water stop after mile 24 due to someone stealing it the night before. Seems like the race organization could have moved one of the earlier water stops to mile 25 before marathoners got there. The Volunteers were amazing. This was a very challenging marathon mentally because miles 14-25 are on a closed course (out and back) with no spectators and limited distractions.
