Enjoy a flat fast scenic course that will go through beautiful Las Cruces pecan orchards and with views of the majestic Organ Mountains. The out-and-back course with mixed surface terrain will be mostly a pathway and road. A small portion of gravel trails is included.

This is mostly a simple out & back course, which I like. Flattest marathon ever. I only gave it 3 stars because there is some odd stuff at the very end; 2 short dog legs and two laps around the track to finish. To make the full marathon turn around further out would involve crossing a more traveled road, so...?? Not sure how that could be remedied since I don't know the area well. Organization is very good. I did this for my New Mexico marathon and glad I did. T shirt, nice medal (although halfers get the same one), birthday cake at the finish since you are celebrating the state's birthday. Nothing fancy- if you need spectators this is not for you. Awesome volunteers. I'd recommend it!!
