After bizarre and disappointing 2006 races, the New York City Marathon presented perfect competitions for the 2007, 38th running. Both the men's and women's races were fast and nail-biters. The Elite Race Post-Race/Race Recaps The 2007 ING New York City Marathon delivered two fantastic races and two epic battles. On the men's side, five leaders turned into three turned into a race between two men and a race that was decided in the final 500 meters. The women's race saw two women run away from the pack nearly from the start and fight to the final 500 meters until one of the women succumbed - a similar result to the men's race.
