		Providence to Host New Marathon (Boston Herald) Providence Rhode Island will begin hosting its newest marathon event beginning on May 4th. The events, titled Cox Providence Rhode Races, will include the marathon, half-marathon, marathon relay, 5 kilometer run and childrens races. John Mathews, president of Eident Sports Marketing, stated that it will be a runners course and void of any large hills. The Rhode Island Race hopes to attract 10,000 runners in its first year. A prize purse is expected but exact amounts have yet to be determined.
