Press Release - White Tail Trail Marathon - 9/23/10

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

White Tail Trail Marathon and Half Marathon
Returns to Caesar Creek State Park

The White Tail Trail Marathon and Half Marathon returns October 2 and 3,
2010 at Caesar Creek State Park near Waynesville, Ohio. One of the most
scenic trail races in the state, the majestic views of the lake are
unforgettable. The race takes advantage of the gorgeous autumn color in one
of Ohio’s most beautiful parks with the 13.1 and 26.2 mile race courses
traversing wooded, dirt paths that circle the lake. Along the way, runners
and walkers will view more than 65 species of plants, while oak-hickory and
beech-maple woodlands clothe the ridges and hillsides. Red-tail hawk,
white-tail deer, raccoon, red fox and box turtle make the park their home.

Currently, runners are registered to run from nine states, including
Washington, Delaware, and Virginia. Two runners are traveling from Mexico
for this year’s event.

"The course is good for first-time trail runners and veterans alike," said
Race Director Derek Griffiths. "Last year’s finishers were overwhelmed with
the beauty of the area. One runner from Utah said he had run in some of the
nation’s premiere parks, and this course was his favorite of them all. I
think that many runners who live in the Midwest are unaware of just how
stunning this park is."

All participants will receive a custom race technical running shirt, a
custom finisher’s medal, professional chip timing, and aid stations with
Snickers Marathon Energy Bars, Hammer Gels, snacks, water, and electrolyte
drinks. Award winners will receive gift certificates to the Endurance
Sports Running Store, race logo pint glasses, and free shoes from
LaSportiva. Raffle prizes will be given away from dozens of vendors. A post
race celebration will feature music and food, including bagels, fruit,
cookies, muffins.

This year there is a special challenge for the truly fit, or truly insane,
depending on your view. "Because the half marathon is held on Saturday and
the marathon is held on Sunday, there are currently 10 runners who have
signed up to run both events," said Griffiths, "So we are awarding anyone
who can complete the entire 39.3 miles with a designer duffel bag."

Registration is now open at www.ohiorunning.com. The race welcomes both
runners and walkers. For more information, log onto www.ohiorunning.com.
