First Marathon
COURSE: 5 ORGANIZATION: 5 FANS: 5 While this has been my first marathon, I can't imagine a more thoughtful or supportive race. The care given to help new runners prepare for and run the race was evident in the large number of first-timers and played a big part in my finishing the race. I started battling an IT/knee issue in mile 11 and had to start stretching every mile or so, and I had great encouragement from other runners and aid staff to keep going. The community was incredibly supportive and the route was perfect to show off the best parts of town. My comments would be incomplete if I didn't mention that mission of Mercy Project helped motivate me to prepare for this race and aided in my weight loss (80+ lbs) along the way. Thank you! | |
