Wow, what a race - a perfect 10! Please tell Art and all of the NJRRC volunteers what an incredible job everyone does. I know you all put your heart and soul into this race and you really can tell. It was the most beautiful day for a marathon, everything was so organized, the volunteers on the course were a lot of fun, it was so great to see everyone; I really missed all of you so much! I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for the experience of a lifetime - I truly had the BEST time.

Just wanted to say thanks to you and all of the volunteers who were great support during my first marathon. Met a lot of great people who put in many long hours to make the race a success.

See you next year for the 10th annual, where I hope I can break 4 hours.

Best regards,

"I LOVED this race!!!!!" (about: 2005)

This is a small race - with a course that has little crowd support - but it is a WONDERFUL race due to the GREAT organization.

This was my fourth marathon (2 New York and 1 Baltimore). I found the organization to be terrific. There were plenty of buses to the start. At the start there was plenty of bagels, water, Gatorade and sun screen.

The thing that made this race so great though were the volunteers at the water stops. They were absolutely wonderful. They were encouraging, happy, enthusiastic. They were the best I've encountered thus far in my (small) marathon travels. I was thrilled with the fact that there was plenty of Gatorade and water and that there were other stops with oranges, bananas, 2 stops with GU and a stop with tons of candy. They did all they could to help us all avoid The Wall.

My only complaint with the race was the 'out and back' from mile 16.5 (or so). It seemed to take forever to get to the 'turn around' before coming right back to where we were. I know some big races (Philadelphia) also does this, but for me, it was a downer. I don't want to see the finish before mile 17 and then spend a good 45 minutes or so running AWAY from the finish (only to have to come back).

But overall, a GREAT race. I absolutely loved it. It was a beautiful day - and the race organizers were able to make this a fantastic experience for all the runners.

I highly recommend the New Jersey Marathon!!!! Keep up the great work!!!

My wife and I were pleased to have the opportunity to talk to RD, Art Castellano, Saturday night while he was overseeing preparations near the finish line. I mentioned that I had run my first marathon at Disney World in January and was able to finish third in my age group, 70-74. It was a thrill for me to take 15 minutes off my Disney time on Sunday and finish first in the over 70 category. We appreciate your efforts in organizing this marathon.

I now have a nice trophy which is now in my living room and serves as a pleasant reminder of running past the lighthouse and on to the rest of the course. Thank You!

Well done! The race was well organized--the only thing I would have done differently would have been to put the Hot Sheet in the race packet.

The course was fast, flat and scenic. There were ample aid stations and lots of great volunteers. The weather was perfect. And, the fact that I qualified for Boston for the first time since 1993 isn't coloring my comments at all, either! :)

This was one of the best organized and run events I have ever been involved with. Using the hotel as a meeting spot and parking, as well as the bus system was super. Even the luggage situation was perfect. The course was beautiful and a the road conditions were good.

I just wanted to say thank you for an amazing experience. I began running 10 months ago and the NJ Marathon last Sunday was my first marathon.

Everything was run so smoothly. The volunteers were all friendly and supportive - excellent cheerleaders. I can't tell you what a great time I had. The NJRRC and all the volunteers did a great job. I have told all my running friends that NJ is a great race to run.

Please pass on my appreciation to all!

First of all, thanks for running a great event! It was my 8th marathon and second NJ Marathon. Last time I ran this event it ended at the Long Branch HS. The changes to the course are a great improvement!

All of the volunteers were very friendly and did their best to be helpful.

Once again, many thanks!

I want to thank you all for a well organized, fun race. The volunteers and organizers did an awesome job! Everyone was helpful and friendly and encouraging. The spectators were great too!

I am originally from NJ but I moved to NC about 5 years ago. I started running about 4 years ago. I ran two other marathons and a half marathon before running this race. It was great to come home to NJ and run a race, a great race.

Thank you for a job well done!!!

I was a participant (and happy finisher!) in the NJM on Sunday. It was a great race. Congratulations! I enjoyed it a lot - both the organization, crowds, weather, course, and everything at the host hotel, Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch. Super! And I qualified for the Boston Marathon and better, which was my goal.
