This was a wonderful event. I appreciate the great communication that is done throughout the year, both on Facebook and by email. I have attended one other event during the year and it was great fun!! The Expo was great this year and last, but this year's was bigger and better. It was awesome being congratulated at the end of the race by Chris Field. And to have my name announced. Wow, that's huge!! I'll be back next year and will be recruiting new folks to join me.

"Overall a great race" (about: 2012)

The course was really nice, and wound through a lot of sites in a rather small area. There were tons of spectators and signs all over the course to encourage us. From a 10 year old kid with a drum kit on a street corner at mile 2, to A&M student organizations, to churches there were tons of groups out cheering and some very creative signs as well. It supports a great cause too. The only down side was the somewhat disorganzied post-race celebrations. I walked right by t-shirts without realizing it and had to go back, and the line was so long for food that we just went to a restaurant. But overall this was a great race, and only in its second year when I ran it. I expect it to get better every year, although it is already a very good race! It was unusually warm and they ordered extra water/gatorade so no one ran out. It is also penguin-friendly (slow-runners). With the warm weather and the advisement to slow down, they extended the course time limit to allow for that.

I liked the changes to the full marathon course this year, especially getting to run through campus more. The cold towels were great.

This race is great for beginners as well as seasoned runners. Lots to see along the route and lots of turns so you don't get bored on long straightaways! Lots of spectators cheering everyone on and a great community to have a comfortable race.

As a first time runner, I had no idea what to expect, but Chris and all the volunteers made it all look so easy. Questions were answered virtually before they could be asked! The whole community was supportive, as even drivers stopped at intersections blew their horns and waved while cheering us on. Support stations were well positioned, with plenty of hands passing out water and Gatorade. The only issue was running out of toilet paper at the port-a-johns along the route and well, that just means I need to run faster next year!
This race was definately worth the ten hour drive to get there. It was an exceptionally positive experience and I encourage other noobs to cut their racing teeth on this one. See you at the start!

This was my second 1/2 and it was the best. Spectators were great. Cold towels and plenty of water. The medical staff was great along the course and at the finish.
