"Outstanding event with awesome volunteers!" (about: 2011)

Nearly perfect race/event. Keeping the race small (capped) is a good thing keeping the race manageable, bigger is not always better. The race course was scenic and easy to follow. The volunteers were excellent and seemed to be everywhere: the waterstops and first-aid stations were perfect. Flat and fast course with just enough turns and mix of city, neighborhoods, and college campus to keep it interesting. Many thanks to the organizers and extremely enthusiastic volunteers for a very professional and enjoyable event!

This was my first half-marathon. It was a great experience. Very well organized, friendly, and supportive of runners of all skill levels (I was definitely in the back of the pack).

I was very pleased with this race. Being a non-Aggie, I am not familiar with the area. The organization was good. There were frequent email updates but not too frequent to be annoying. The packet pick up was easy. I enjoyed the course, it was mostly flat with a few rolling hills, but at times it was lonely. I don't think there is anything that can be done about that. The volunteers were wonderful and had a great set up.

The water stations were well equipped and the Gatorade was mixed well, not too strong and not too weak. The crowds were good but they weren't everywhere. I really enjoyed seeing so many college students out. The finish area was nice and well staged so I could figure out what I needed and didn't have to walk too far.

"My first marathon : What a success!" (about: 2011)

The BCS Marathon was my first marathon ever. I was nervous and scared and excited. The volunteers and staff made registration quick and painless (I even had a bib number mix-up that was solved in minutes). The course was pretty flat and the traffic was well-maintained. Aid stations were plentiful and always prepared with water and gatorade if needed. There were some areas where spectator support could have been better - but the spectators that were there were encouraging and uplifting. This was a wonderful experience for me. I was very impressed by Chris and how well-organized this event was for its inaugural year.

I don't have other races to compare this one to since it was my first marathon, but I think it was great. The race director and organizers kept all runners well informed before the race. Their hard work really showed on race day. Everything worked smoothly, from packet pick-up, the aid stations, community support and the finisher's medal. I am so glad that my first experience with a marathon was here.

This was a great race. Everything was very well organized and there was zero stress on the runners (other than running). Tons of volunteers that cheered and encouraged all along the way. Food, water, gatorade, medals, sports bears, etc. were all a plus.

I believe that the organization and how the race was handled was better than anyone could have expected. The only problem is that the course had too many hills. preferable redraw the course but everything else was perfect.

I am so proud to have been able to run my first half at the BCS Marathon. I've run many 5k's before, but when I heard that BCS would be hosting a marathon, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. The race committe did an absolutely amazing job putting together this race. Many seasoned runners have commented that it was WAY better organized than most runs they attend. The community pitched in, the course was awesome, and the spectators really turned out to support the runners.

December 9th, 2012 - put it on your calendar!

All involved should be very proud. On par or better with other races I have done that are well beyond race #1. Great event for both my Daughter and I to share our 1st Marathon. Support stations were great, as was the traffic support, both were very friendly and encouraging. You even somehow put in a good word to the weather God. Only suggestion for change is less gummy bears and more grapes.
