"I look forward to this race every year!" (about: 2016)

6-10 previous marathons | 6+ Bryan/College Station Marathons
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

I don't even know where to begin! Before this race even came to town I NEVER imagined I'd run anything more than a 5K. If it weren't for the vision of the founder I am not sure I would have ever challenged myself physically. So, thank you to the wonderful founder! Because of you I realize I am stronger than I ever thought I was! Second, I have run this race (full yr 1-4 and half yr 5-6) every year and every time I have an absolutely wonderful experience. The organizers do a spectacular job keeping runners informed on different platforms. The weekend of the race is flawless from the expo to crossing the line. I LOVE this race and what it stands for. I fully intend to participate in some way as long as I am able!

A little about the event: proceeds support Mercy Project and local charities; free and plentiful parking nearby; aid stations every 1.5 miles and potties every 3 miles, frequent medic stations after mile 7 on the full route and mile 8 on the half route; ample crowd support, especially on campus and on to the finish; top notch race gifts participant shirts, finisher medals & gifts; nice selection of post-race fuel.. I know I'll be taken care of and I can't think of how I would make this any better. Keep up the great work, BCS Marathon + Half Marathon organizers!

"Terrific course, course fans, and after race party" (about: 2016)

6-10 previous marathons | 4-5 Bryan/College Station Marathons
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

The course was very easy to maneuver, nice scenery, the numerous fans along the course cheering us on was really nice and encouraging, the water/aid stations were frequent, well staffed, and nicely stocked, the food and drinks after the race were better than any other race, the finisher's medal was very nice, and the finisher's jacket topped off the day!

"This is an amazing race!" (about: 2016)

This race is my favorite because of the spirit about it. It is welcoming and encouraging to ALL. You can be the fastest or the slowest and you are treated with the same respect. The causes it supports put it over the top. In this season of life, it is hard to justify time spent on 'extras'. But knowing that I get to be a part of something bigger than myself, makes this a worthwhile commitment. Not only do you know with your mind that you are helping great organizations, you get to feel it in your heart as you see the beautiful faces of the rescued children when finishing the race and meet the beautiful souls who are handing out the medals at the end. Best race ever!

Stellar communication prior to and after the race. The communication is always personal, heart-felt and positive; you don't feel like just a number. I LOVE the way race officials high five and hug you at the finish line. I LOVE the pics of the freed children from Ghana. Makes the end of the race so worth it.

"Fast, flat course that was very fun to run!" (about: 2016)

Would be a perfect course for 1st time marathoners and half marathoners who would rather not do it in a bigger city like Houston or Dallas. The amenities were superb and the turn out was just right for one not wanting to go too big but big enough.

This race never disappoints! Everyone involved with this race is not only nice, but energized, excited and encouraging to everyone else. The volunteers, the police that help with traffic, and the runners are all a delight to be around! I also love running this race because there seems to be fans cheering for the runners at every corner! I've never experienced a race quite like this one, it truly is a one of a kind experience!

"Outstanding Marathon Event!" (about: 2016)

11-50 previous marathons | 4-5 Bryan/College Station Marathons

I have run over 12 marathons and 25 half marathons and this is one of my favorites. The only marathon that exceeds this one for me is Chicago. I love the course as it winds through the Texas A&M campus. And the post run party is second to none. The charity the run supports is outstanding. Nice work!!

This race course takes you through Bryan/College Station and lands you back near the starting line and presents you with Double Dave's Pizza Rolls. This year, we were given finisher's jackets!!! What a great piece of swag for finishing.

"The perfect marathon for beginners and veterans" (about: 2016)

3 previous marathons | 3 Bryan/College Station Marathons
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

With a mostly flat course and absolutely top notch execution, the BCS marathon is an excellent place for newcomers and veterans. Aid stations are plentiful and well stocked, there's always several spectators to cheer you on, few hills (and none of them truly difficult), and a nice course that runs all over town. You can tell that the organizers are incredibly devoted and passionate to making this race a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
