"First .5 marathon, wont be my last. Great race!" (about: 2014)

I thought it was a great race! Runners were encouraging, spectators were encouraging and it made for a great time. The after race festivities were also very well done!

"Awesome course and volunteers" (about: 2014)

The students on campus were great. The water and fuel stations were exceptionally well manned. Traffic control was fantastic. My only complaint was the lack of bathrooms between miles 11 and 18 (at least I didn't see any...and believe me, I was looking very hard!).

This was my first marathon. The course was well designed, the spectators were energetic and plentiful, the volunteers were positive and helpful. Overall, this is a great race.

"Small-town race with big-town encouragement!" (about: 2014)

This race has become such a special part of my time here at Texas A&M and in College Station. Only at the BCS Marathon will you feel like you are apart of a family that shares the love for running and you can feel just how important it is to the race staff that you walk away with a gigantic smile on your face. Hands down, this race is the epitome of family, love, and inspiration. If running through the twelfth man's town and finishing alongside the faces of beautiful, beaming children of freedom doesn't motivate you, nothing else will. Chris Fields and his team continuously exceed my expectations of a race and I could not be more proud to participate in the BCS Marathon. (And the awesome facebook posts are a definite plus! Keep those coming!)

"The whole race day package is great!" (about: 2014)

6-10 previous marathons | 2 Bryan/College Station Marathons

The packet pick up organization was simple and helpful. Race day morning is easy, park at the mall, stroll down the hill to the start and go. The finish village and food is awesome and well organized. My fear is the more popular the race gets, I hope everything can grow proportionally to keep the great level of support.

"First time running BCS - will be back again!" (about: 2014)

Having only run 2 marathons prior to BCS, I don't have a lot to compare this race to; however, this was a very well organized race, well supported, and the student groups through A&M campus were way fun and very motivating!

"Great Experience" (about: 2014)

4-5 previous marathons | 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

As a former student, getting to pass through the Bryan / College Station area on a superbly supported run was literally a stroll down memory lane. This was a great experience, with so much food/drink afterwards, as well as aid stations every 1.5 miles and lots of crowds along the way.

I loved that there were a lot of personal touches to this race. The race director is the best I've known so far. Who knocks on houses personally to let homeowners know about their neighborhood being affected by lane closures for race day? Chris Field and his volunteers. Who stands there waiting at the finish line to personally shake your hand as you cross the line? Chris Field. how amazing is that? Course mostly flat with a few rolling hills and runs through the beautiful Tx A&M campus. There were so many groups of A&M students who gave the best cheerleading support! And the volunteers at the water stations were so supportive. Plus there are food stations every 5 mi for the marathon course. The brownies at mi. 20 was the most delicious energy providing food! As you get to the last few meters towards the finish line, you'll get humbled by the faces of children saved by The Mercy Project lining the sides. And it was awesome to get finisher medals from kids who have Down's syndrome and their smiles were just heartwarming! Then you get your finisher shirt right there at the finish line, no lining up at booths to claim it. And food at the post race party is very filling. Burgers, breakfast tacos, pizza rolls, fruits, and of course beer,/margaritas for those who like to imbibe something different than Gatorade and water. For the race, you get 2 shirts and a pair of socks customized with BCS Marathon print. There's still too many awesome things about this marathon to list!

"Amazing race and support...incredible people!" (about: 2014)

This was my second marathon (first of which was the BCS last year). Knowing that the race is so well supported going into it gives a special sense of confidence knowing that you will be taken care of. The email updates and posts on FB get runners excited and really makes it a rewarding experience.
