My friend and I had a great time! The location is great, and the excited fans/friends made it bearable!

"Great race, great organization" (about: 2013)

This was my first marathon and was very nervous about it. I've ran the 1/2 previous 2 years, and so knew what to expect in terms of how the race was organized and set up, but was still pleasantly surprised by the spread of refueling nutrition (Gu, brownies, apples, bananas, oranges, gummy bears) that was every 6 miles, the constant appearances of porty potties, and well timed aid stations with both water and gatorade. Plus, the medic stations were just as frequent. The spectators outside of campus were sparse, but I blamed the cold snap, not the race (It was 33-40F all day, which is chilly for Texans). I would definitely run this race again!

I have done this race all three years and will be back next year. The awesomeness starts well before race day! I love the regular communication. The expo is just the right size. Parking is super. Course is great. The course support is spot on. The race size is perfect. And, the post race food is some of the best I've had

I think having the last few miles of the marathon on the A&M Campus was a real plus! I'm sure there would have been more spectator interaction if it hadn't been so very cold!

"Great experience for my first half" (about: 2013)

First Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

I participated in the half marathon, with this being my first. I was impressed with the organization, communication prior to and after the race, as well as the added touch to sign up for instant race results via text once I crossed the finish line. The post-race swag and food was an added bonus. The organizers and volunteers are to be commended for a job well done. They raised the bar and I am impressed. My only drawback - I would prefer races to be held on Saturday to allow time to recover before going back to work on Monday.

Through the entire process, this race was managed top-notch. Cannot wait to do it again next year!!

"Excellent race!" (about: 2013)

2 previous marathons | 1 Bryan/College Station Marathon

The race organizers were kind enough to accommodate runners from the Dallas Marathon that was canceled due to icy road conditions. So that says a lot about this race. Every penny goes to charity, that again goes to say a lot about this race. The Down syndrome kids handing out medals at the end was touching and brought meaning to the entire 26.2 miles. The food supply was excellent, with gu and fruits every 5 miles. Not seen that in any race so far. No need to wait in the potty line!

This is the first half-marathon I've participated in and I have to say I cannot be any more impressed than what I experienced with BCS Marathon + Half-Marathon. I am amazed with how smooth everything ran, the encouragement from the race coordinators and the spectators. It was wonderful to see all the supporters throughout the course- they made it a lot easier to continue the run. I also want to applaud the post-race spread- it was delicious! I cannot wait to participate in this race in 2014 and hopefully every year after! I'm so glad I was able to be a part of this. The pictures of the children that are helped through their cause at the end of the race was also one of the best things about the race!
