"Great experience: before, during, & after" (about: 2013)

I would agree with all the positive comments that have already been said. I think that the one thing that really stood out to me was the uplifting/positive/supportive/encouraging vibe that surrounded this race experience from the time I registered and continues now. The communication was unbelievable. I really felt like a member of a small club.

"By far the BEST race in the country!" (about: 2013)

Chris Fields and his crew do an outstanding job of organizing and running this marathon. The emphasis is kept on the charaties that benefit from this race, and it feels like you are doing something other than just running. The communication leading up to the race, and even last minute details are communicated very effectively via email, facebook, and even texts! I loved the fact that the orgainzers made it possible for runners that were planning on participating in the Dallas marathon on the same day to join us last minute. Allowing runners that had planned to run this race to defer until next year if they were affected by the ice storm, was a very nice touch as well. That was going above and beyond! I love this race, and it has spoiled me. I have been to marathons in several other cities and states, but this is by far the best one! And not only because of the 1 portajohn per <50 people, the outstanding food and drinks at the finish, or the free massages after the race, but because of the attention to details for everyone participating. I love volunteering to help with this run,and will do so if I am unable to run it at some point.

My husband and I both ran the full, and everything about it exceeded our expectations. It was so well organized with plenty of support, great route and a ton of fun!! Lots of volunteers even though it was 31 degrees. Thanks to the organizers, constables, and volunteers. You rock! And special thanks to a stranger named Henry without whom I wouldn't have made it to the finish line in time.

"Favorite race to ever participate in." (about: 2013)

This is by far my favorite race in Texas! I have run both the half marathon and full marathon of this particular race. I have run this race every year since it was created and it keeps getting better. This race truly is all about meeting the runner's wants and needs. The course, swag, race parking, porta potties, post race food/drinks, communication to runners about important details were all impeccable! Not to mention the race coordinators were very flexible and accommodating this year to all runners in bad weather to defer their race entry to 2014 AND allow runners from the Dallas Marathon to join the BCS Marathon days before the race! Superb race all around!!

"Excellent course-well planned-selfless volunteers" (about: 2013)

This run is phenomenal. From the early organization and updates (especially in light of unknown weather) to the last minute planning (thermal blankets), this race truly tells the runners they are valued. The course is great-flat with a good section running through Texas A&M Campus, where student organizations are lining the streets cheering you on. There are no major hills and most of the course is through friendly neighborhoods. Staff and volunteers were friendly, helpful, and informed. Expo was great, with outstanding deals and good vendors. The price is also not bad, considering rates of other marathons. I will be back!

"I love my free roller!" (about: 2013)

This race was my fourth half marathon and my second time running the BCS half. It has only improved since last year. I loved the cheering stations, TWO shirts, food and margz at the end of the race, and the free roller each runner got at the expo (SO grateful for that roller on this day-after soreness). I would recommend this half or full marathon to any of my friends. I am definitely running it again next year, my senior year at A&M.

The weekly give a ways are awesome and keeps everyone involved. The communication is the BEST! The medals, t-shirts, and the food are top notch!I LOVE this RACE!
