First Marathon

This was my first Marathon and I cannot imagine a better race for it! The communication from the race team was amazing especially considering the weather. The organization was perfect. The spectators kept me going and laughing. The Mercy Project does amazing work. I am proud to be a part of the effort and simply amazed by the whole team!

What an incredible race! I was originally supposed to run my very first marathon with Dallas Marathon - that unfortunately got cancelled and I went frantically searching for another race to run that Sunday. I found BCS and they were so incredible as to open up additional spots to accommodate us. My parents and I got a hotel and everything organized for the weekend and headed down to college station. During the run I loved all of the support that was given - the aggie rugby team were great crowd cheerers! :) i loved everything about the race and it was a great first marathon to take part in!

This race has a great vibe! It was a fast, COLD, course. Plenty of water/fuel stops.
The highlight for me was the number of fantastic groups that got out of bed on a COLD Sunday morning to cheer. Various fraternities, sororities, D2 (Dog Company of the Corps of Cadets), Aggie Men's Rugby Team, Veterinary School...all had focused, ridiculously enthusiastic...LOUD groups out there supporting the runners. Even on those portions of the course that were through neighborhoods, there were folks out supporting from their front yards. I will believe that the course has been checked to verify for its distance multiple times, but my GPS was had me running 26.45 miles by the time I finished! It was probably a watch problem...

I have participated in many half marathons and other races. This was by far one of the most organized races I have ever participated in. It was also extremely well supported by the local community! Despite the weather being freezing temps or below, there were lots of people in their yards cheering on all of us runners!! A truly great experience!!!

This race was the most well organized race I have ever run! I have run large marathons (Rock and Roll) and smaller marathons (Galveston and the Woodlands) and I have never had so much fun! The course was great and the support/aid stations were second to none! The after party was amazing! If the weather was a bit warmer, I would have stayed longer and enjoyed the music. The best part of this race is knowing that my entry fee went to such an amazing charity. I can not wait to do this one again. Thank you to all who made it a memorable race for me.

"Loved every minute of it!!" (about: 2013)

First Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

The BCs Marathon team made me actually believe that I could run a half marathon and then the race day experience didn't disappoint! There were so many more spectators than I expected considering the temps and each water/aid station was full or encouraging, smiling faces! I loved every moment of the race and can't wait to run again next year!

Almost every step of the way there were people lining the way cheering us on. Very, very motivating.
Plenty of water stations, and the course was flat and extremely scenic.
Loved every second of it.

From registration, to the bib pick-up, to the race, everything was well organized and smooth. I really enjoyed the college students on the side with the funny signs. The finish line was great and the medals were HUGE!!!

Since this is my first race, I don't have much to compare it to. But it was completely organized, super runner-friendly and we were kept in constant professional communication with the race directors. I will be back for sure!!

The organization was amazing! I never lacked for information, everything went off without a single hitch! Even the last minute addition of the Dallas runners did not seem to rule any feathers.
