I can't say enough great things about this race! Mercy Project is such a great cause, race director Chris Field is AMAZING, organized, fun...list goes on. I recommend this race to anyone and should be on the list of MUST DO marathons.

This was my fourth marathon, and even though I was sick and almost ran my worst time ever, it was an amazing run.

The cities of Bryan and College Station have really gotten behind the race. The race director has been able to get the two cities, Texas A&M university, and a ton of great sponsors on board and puts on a great race, and by far the best after race party with all the food you can eat after running 26.5 miles (4 marathons down and none of them have been 26.2 miles by the Garmin).

I have run in several marathons much more expensive than this, including certain mouse-oriented races in Orlando. But the BCS Marathon is now my favorite!! The race director, Chris, gives the race such a personal touch by email and Facebook updates - plus, he goes the extra mile to ensure that the runners have a great experience. Its a mostly flat course with plenty of support. This is a great race for first-timers and marathon veterans!!

This year's BCS Marathon (2012) was even better than the inaugural race.

Pros-
easy-access, fast race start
good water hand-offs at the stations
well stocked aid stations - everywhere
exuberant crowd support - even in the final painful miles
a big sweaty hug from the race director at the finish line
lots of post-race food, many choices

Cons-
I got a blister (boo-hoo)

I woke up today STILL SMILING from the joy of the race and the chance to push myself beyond my limits. The facebook excitement you created made me feel like I was preparing to attend the circus... you know how excited you get? ;) This was my second year to volunteer for the race and my first year to run it. It was EPIC awesomeness. I cried when I saw those sweet babies who were rescued at the finish. I CANNOT WAIT TO RUN NEXT YEAR AGAIN!!!! The dri fit shirt runs small so I can't really ever wear my finisher shirt. BOO. But such is life... lol

The entire race experience was great, from sign up to the food after the race. The Saturday expo and packet pick up was well organized. Race day was phenomenal. There was plenty of food, drinks and cold/wet towels on the course. Lots of people on the course cheering us on. Plenty of good food and drinks after. Thanks Chris!

A great race! Even better than last year. And the best part...IPA draft beer at the end : )

The B/CS Half Marathon was my first race beyond a 5K, and the whole process was incredible. Several thousand people ran this event, but I feel like the runners and the organizers are part of a much smaller community; a friendly atmosphere to go relax. I am immensely satisfied with my choice to race in the B/CS Half this year.
