"I love this marathon!" (about: 2007)

This is one of my favorite marathons! This is the second year that I ran and I can't wait until next year! The race is very organized and I really like the course. There are spots where there are no spectators, but where there are spectators, everyone is fabulous and excited! There are plently of water stations, the shirt and hat are very nice, and overall I just really like this race!

I could not ask for more for my first marathon experience. The support along the course was terrific, plenty of fluid/food stops, superb organization, and great pacers. The finish on the boardwalk along the ocean was perfect.

After such a long day timing thousands of runners, they found time in the evening to find where my results had disappeared too and added it to the results list.

My time was not on the results list and Lin-Mark had found it on their back-up timing, and added it to the results list. All the hard work on both ends paid off ten fold. I'll definitely be back next year. Thanks for such a great memory.

The all-volunteer staff all worked well together to provide a well-run race. Everything seemed very organized. Very impressed. I ran in the half-marathon. Racers of all capability levels were welcome and participating.

"Friendly first-time half-marathon" (about: 2007)

First Marathon
COURSE: 4  ORGANIZATION: 3  FANS: 2

Ran my first half marathon today, 4/29/07. This is a nice beginner course - relatively flat. A little disorganized on the course support and not yet popular enough to attract a good number of spectators. The ones who were there, though, were very supportive and inventive in showing support. Will run this course again... not sure about the full marathon, but definitely the half.

"A very nice race!" (about: 2007)

The marathon this year (2007) turned out well. Although I tend to frown on repeat loops for a marathon, the course is mostly flat. The weather was also cool (in the 60s) and overcast, which was nice. The race organization was terrific. There were many water/Gatorade stations. The volunteers were great. The expo was kind of lame... not many freebies or booths or exhibits. The speakers were cool. At the finish, the medals were terrific, the finisher's pin was a wonderful bonus and the finisher's cap is high-quality and very stylish! Keep it up with the finisher's medal, cap and pin!

"A hidden jewel" (about: 2007)

After completing my 42nd total marathon and 11th consecutive Boston, I ran the NJM this weekend. Totally wonderful experience: flat, beautiful, very user-friendly. Course is a double-loop along the boardwalk and pretty neighborhoods of Long Branch. Also historic: monument to mark where President Garfield died around miles 10/20. The race director, Art, his assistant Tom, and "Larry the Lighthouse" deserve highest praises for a job well done! Thank you so much!

"This is one of the best races!" (about: 2006)

I love this race; it is so well organized, and the volunteers are wonderful.

The race director, Art, and his wife, Eva, do a spectacular job. I would recommend this race highly. I love the shirt and medal. I had a BLAST! I will do this race again!

"Fast, flat course with ample support!" (about: 2006)

I ran New Jersey in 2006 and it was just fantastic. The aid stations were well-stocked and well-placed throughout the course and the two-loop course made it easier for my supporters to see me at multiple places throughout the course. The finish on the beach was just gorgeous. Lots of fans, good food at the finish (let's face it; that's the important stuff). Gave away Mizuno tech tees, which is also a bonus. I know that some people don't like the whole loop idea, but it's such a fast, flat course! Run your PR or a BQ in New Jersey this year!

"Fluids tasted like garden hoses. Yuck." (about: 2006)

By the time I was on my second lap, they had run out of gels. The Gatorade tasted like my garden hose. Yucky.
