"Aweome race!!" (about: 2012)

Overall - Fantastic race!! LOVED the crowd support. LOVED the corps guys cheering us along the way, even at mile 23 when everyone else had finished the half and was already home eating lunch! Those guys were still out there happy as could be. Loved the number of water stations. Always came up on one right when I needed it. Loved the organization, expo, and over-all friendliness of the entire race from registration to the finish line.

One suggestion: From a full marathoners point of view, I would have liked the 2 courses (half and full) to have stayed on the same course a little longer. Luckily I had a running partner, but once the break is made, you loose about 2000 people who were running along side to distract you from the 26 miles you just embarked on. Just my opinion. I like having lots of people around to distract me and breaking off at mile 4 made the race seem a little longer.

But still an incredible race and I would and WILL run it again, even if it's the same course that breaks early. It was awesome!!

"The most well organized race I,ve run!" (about: 2012)

This was the most well organized race I've ever run in! The volunteers including the medical team were on top of everything and so friendly, supportive and helpful. I ran with a strained calf muscle and injured it more during my run and and as soon as I finished, I asked for ice and the med team instead took me and rushed me to the med tent to take care of me. Will definitely do this one again!

I truly enjoyed the race and the course. I have run in many road races and the organization of this race was thorough and enjoyable.
Pro's
the community involvement
the pride in making a good race
the expo (great addition and touch)
the aid stations

Con's, but only construction thoughts and observations!
There were no pins in my bag-didn't realize it until too late and nor did I have any at home, scrambling the morning of (possibly a table with such items morning of-if there was I couldn't find it)
my name wasn't on my tag either-I know this was addressed in your message
the porta-potties (a lot at the start, but made difficult to line up (hence that is where they were placed), the first set of porta-potties were at mile 6 (too far into the race. And ONLY 3 and by the time I reached them at 70-80 minutes, they were already disgusting and out of TP. Need more earlier and more in general.

Other than that...EXCELLENT!

Really enjoyed it! The volunteers and medical support were the best. One of the best run events I've ever done! ALL race proceeds go to charity!! And seeing the faces of 24 children freed from slavery by the Mercy Project on the way to finish line was amazing. This run rocks!

I have run many races off all distances including Ironman, Marathons, 1/2 marathons..etc...and this race is so well organized. I ran 2011 and was really impressed, after running 2012 it only got better. Kudos to the organizers.

It's not just the quality of this event that brings me back. It's the reason. I believe deeply in what Chris is doing with his non-profit, and the others that are supported by this event. It's an honor to be a part of it.

This was a great race. It was exceptionally fun to start both the full and half marathon at the same time. There were plenty of spectators and volunteers cheering us on all along the way. There was never need for water as there were strategically placed water/ Gatorade stands close by; same withheld ports-potty's. The race packets and finisher shirts were also perfect and high quality. I loved the banners of the 24 rescued kids lining the end of the race. their faces were precious, and enough reason for me to run this race again in a heartbeat.

I ran the half this year. It was very warm for December in College Station so the organizers added cold towel stations and were very accommodating. The food and beverage afterwards were great as well.

First of all, I was very impressed at the consistent contacting and support from the race director, Chris. It felt like every racer was cared about and supported. It was a personally comforting that you weren't just another runner giving their money away. It almost felt like a team effort and goal. There was much hype built leading up to the race in the form of ads, social networking, and emails. At the Health Expo were the race packet was picked up, there was awesome booths with some great merchandise and information. The actual race (my 1st half) had great supportive spectators all along the way showing Aggie spirit and rooting for everyone! The last 2 miles was definitely a push because it was a long uphill, but in the end it was so rewarding. As you were finishing, there were pictures of children leading of Africa leading up to the finish reminding you what this event was all about. After, they had a great spread of wonderful food. Also, results were accessible almost immediately. WHAT A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!
