Everything was done extremely well. From the website to the informational e-mails, the packet pick-up, expo and finally the race. It was all so well organized, efficient and friendly. I will definitely be back next year.

This was my first half marathon experience and it was incredible. I was shocked by how incredibly well organized everything was, and the amount of communication from Chris Fields was extremely helpful. The course was great, every water and gatorade stand was well staffed & very encouraging. Food after the event was superb. I can't wait to run this again next year. Great job you guys!

"Awesome attention to detail...made the run so much" (about: 2012)

I am a novice runner. I ran the half marathon and was really impressed with the whole event. Packet pickup was a breeze, the starting area had just the right energy to get us going. The hydration stations were situated just right and the volunteers were extremely encouraging. The towels were a treat. Breakfast bags by our hotel room door was nice touch. I did not get to stay for the after party but it looked/sounded like a lot of fun. I am ready to sign up for next year and will try to recruit others to run with me. Great job, Chris and all the volunteers. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

This was my first half. I loved the experience . Fun atmosphere that was encouraging and not overwhelming even though there were 3500 runners.

"Will run any race directed by Chris Field." (about: 2012)

This was my first full marathon and the weather was not ideal, but Chris and his team did such an amazing job of making me feel like I was being looked after 100% of the time that I didn't worry. The course is great with only a couple of miles of tricky hills and the volunteers and officers along the way were all super supportive and encouraging.

"No cancel/deferral after Nov 9 is unfair" (about: 2012)

I was very ill during the week last week and through this weekend. I emailed the race organizer on Friday requesting a cancellation or deferral once I determined I could not possibly run the race. The organizer refused to defer my registration or offer a refund because of race policy and signed off with a curt, 'sorry'. This is terrible way to do business. I was really looking forward to this race and was disappointed that I would be unable to run it. But receiving no compassion from the race organizers made me angry. It could not be that difficult to make this situation right, even 2 days prior to the race. I will not register for this race again and will advise my friends not to do so as well. A total waste of my money.

The race organizer provided lots of communication via email & Facebook. I don't think I had any pre-race questions left. The race course is fun for anybody familiar with College Station, Bryan, and/or Texas A&M.

"blown away by race's organization" (about: 2012)

First Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

This was my first half marathon, and I don't think I could have picked a better one. We were kept informed and updated during the months/weeks/days leading up to the race, and the race director was extremely great about answering everyone's questions. He was very active on Facebook as well, which really pumped me up for the race. There were plenty of of porta-potties at the starting line, amazing crowd support throughout the course, and plenty of water/gatorade stops. I loved how well the race was branded, and that everything was cohesive- finisher's medal, t-shirts, signs, website, etc. are all beautifully designed.
