The race was great, from packet pick up, the course, spectators cheering us on, hand painted mile markers, pictures of the trafficked kids near the finish line, the food and drinks after, the medals, finisher's shirt, and Chris taking the time to be at the finish line. Wonderful race, I'll be back every year.

Incredibly well run event. Flexible organizers made room at last minute for late entries from other cancelled races. Super, timely, and informative communications across all social media. Great support on course from volunteers and spectators. Will definitely recommend this race to others and will consider for future races as well!

I have never seen a team work so hard to bring the most awesome experience to the running public. They go beyond the call, but you can see they are working beyond the event itself with The Mercy Project.

"PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE" (about: 2013)

First Marathon

This was my first half marathon so I had no idea what to expect. I was blown away by the whole experience: the amazing RD and staff, the wonderful volunteers who worked in the freezing cold, the supporters along the course ROCKED. The whole thing was so well organized, they truly made it look effortless. GREAT SWAG! I will be there next year!

This was my first half marathon and I thoroughly enjoyed my first experience. From the consistent updates on the race, weather, etc. to the experience on the day of the run, I'd definitely do this again and would recommend to others. Spectators really helped me throughout the race and the ending with the pictures, people, medal, etc. was AWESOME. Great job to Chris and his team.

"I'll run yearly until I can't, then I'll volunteer" (about: 2013)

This is the best race in Texas. Not only is it in the best city in Texas, it is also organized by runners who, if they weren't giving you a high five as you finish, would be out there running with you! They know what you need to make your marathon experience perfect.

In addition, there is no greater cause than what these guys are doing. All proceeds from this race go to ending child slavery in Africa. This is the main reason that I will run this race until my feet can no longer carry me 26.2 miles, and after that I will be volunteering and cheering on the thousands of runners having the best time of their lives!
