"Great Race on a VERY Cold day!!!" (about: 2013)

This was my first marathon but second time to run this race. I did the half last year. The volunteers were wonderful and the last 10 miles was full of groups to cheer us on. This was very motivating. I can't wait to run it again next year!!

Put this race on your 2014 calendar! It will be a wonderful experience. The spectators and volunteers were so supportive and kind. So much cheering - just at the right mile markers. Great on course support. So many friendly faces. Travel to Aggieland is easy and inexpensive. The course is flat, fast, and extremely well marked (lots of police officers). The medal is beautiful. The expo was small but very nice. The race is run for a great cause. The post race food was outstanding - I have been to races all over the world and never seen so much food at a finish line (I had egg and cheese tacos along strawberries!). The child who put my medal around my neck made my day. Obviously, I loved this race. You will too! Sign up for it today!

"Excellent race!!!" (about: 2013)

The weather hindered the amount of spectators, overall the race was excellent. Since last year changes included: the expo (wow-amazing), the course (1000 x's better-made for a better race, run, and for the mental state), and the finish with the area for runners and food (Was the icing on the cake). Thank you to Chris and the rest of the team, it made for a wonderful day and run.

I have been involved with many races, as a volunteer and participant and this was by far the most organized event. Kudos to all those involved. My group of 6 will make it an annual event!

First Marathon
COURSE: 5  ORGANIZATION: 5  FANS: 5

My first marathon and I'm from the area so I wasn't sure what to expect, just knew that I wanted to do my first marathon near home! I have done several half marathons and the planning, communication, and positivity blew all the rest of them out of the water! Couldn't have chosen better for my first!

"Hands down my favorite race ever!" (about: 2013)

This was my second year running the BCS half marathon. Again, it surprises me, in a really great way. The organizers are amazing at communicating via email and social media, so you always know what to expect. The course is great, food is amazing, and spectators and volunteers really couldn't be any better. Seriously, three different kinds of beer and margaritas? This isn't just a race, it is a runner's party. And of course, it benefits some really worthy causes. Love it!

"Great race for a Great cause by a Great team!" (about: 2013)

Ran year 2 and year 3 now and year 2 was my very first race. I was introduced to the running community through that race and I fell in love. The team goes the extra mile to make this race the best it possibly can. I will run this race every year and if I'm unable to run for whatever reason I will give back by volunteering because this race has given me so much.

"Best Organized Race" (about: 2013)

This is my second yr to run this marathon. Chris and the BCS team organize every little detail seamlessly even during possibly trick weather conditions this year. We were updated Sat evening and Sunday morning about road and weather conditions. This is only a small example of the organization and communication of this race family.

Jeff Higgins from Houston, TX (12/9/2013)
"Nicely organized small marathon, worth running." (about: 2013)

The goody bag was cool and had usefel and interesting items, the post race food and beer was plentiful and good and the finisher shirt is really nice. The water stations were frequent, well stocked and enthusiastically manned. The course is not that interesting and has a lot of vehicle traffic mixed in. The A&M campus was about the only place with any real spectator support and they were fun. (It was a cold day, so spectators may have been fewer than normal.) It would be nice to have (recorded) music blasting at some more of the remote mile markers as there was virtually no entertainment on the course outside of the A&M campus.
