The best Flying Pig EVER!!! Organization, volunteers, fans. Much improved from previous years. Media coverage was somewhat improved, also. The 1/2 marathon being added on really opened the doors to a lot more people. Thank you, Cincinnati!!! Well done, organizers & staff.

I have run all 7 of the Flying Pig Marathons, and I must say it gets better every year. The course, while challenging, is very scenic and most of the hills are over early in the race (miles 6-8). The rest of the course is either flat or just a few rolling hills. The finish line was moved to a less narrow area which also helped the congestion problems. And what about the fans? Aside from a couple of miles where there were few fans (remember, this isn't Boston or Chicago), the fans came out in droves (est. 200,000) and were very enthusiastic and supportive. I look forward to May 7, 2006 when I hope to run the Pig once again.

Although there are hills on this course, I did a PR in this race. As well I know of three others that qualified for Boston. Yes, there are hills, but that is what makes this race so great. As one set of muscles rest, another takes over. The course is EXCELLENT, as well as the support and staff. I have run 9 other marathons and will put this one at the top. I highly recommend it for both beginner and experienced runners. You cannot go WRONG!!

I just ran my third Pig race in Cincinnati. The course has changed a bit - but it's still a bit challenging (with several hills). Crowd support was excellent as usual. The expo was quite small and the t-shirt was horrible (poor screenprinting & only a small graphic on front). Organization was quite lacking. First, the runner's gear-check trucks were very late, causing many to have to leave their bags on a curb & line-up for the start. The starting line was very crowded (for only 8,000 half/full marathon participants). This was partially due to having the porta-johns so close to the starting line & no corral fencing to force late-comers toward the back of the pack. Gatorade/water tables would be less crowded if they were on both sides of the street. Another suggestion would be to dump the cross-country-style finish, which condenses the street down to a very narrow corridor.

The course was very nice, the volunteers were great and the crowd support was excellent. Even the weather was great (38 at the start). Previous runnings of this race were better organized though.

What a wonderful day! The Cincinnati spectators are the most enthusiastic (creative also) I've ever seen and really helped us along. Thank you so much. The course was interesting and varied. Of course the perfect weather didn't hurt either. Whatever organization problems there were in 2004, they were obviously remedied by this time around. The numerous volunteers were fantastic. The spectators and volunteers along race course and the finish area made the entire day seem like one big party.

The half marathon course was new this year and what a treat. While the first eight or so miles were a series of hills, over the last five the runners were treated to all descents. Gatorade and water at every stop - plus a premium gift of a really nice running bag!

Overall - it rocked!

Great course, excited fans, beautiful weather, and a lot of smiling faces. The new finish on the river was great and the 'long' finish down Eastern Ave. seemed to have more spectators this year. Great job Pig.

I've run all of the Pigs and this one was the worst for weather, but I ran a PR, so maybe it was really the best weather.

Fun course and the crowd was great. Lots of H2O and gel. I hope they get the finish line problems worked out. I finished early enough that I missed the big problems that began around 4 hours. They did, however, lose my bag and it took me (yes, me not them) 40 minutes to locate it. Normally no big deal, but I was soaking wet in 40-degree, windy weather. Overall, I had a great time and I'll run it again.

It was rainy, cold and perfect. The spectators cannot get enough press as they were great. I have run Chicago twice which is renowned for its fan support but the Pig was just as good for a much smaller city AND rainy day. You get a great overview of downtown and residential Cincy.

Good news: I got a Mylar blanket, food, t-shirt, clean porta-potty, great conversation and a PR. They even opened up Paul Brown Stadium before the race so we could stay dry.

Only suggestion: widen the exchanges for the relays because they get really congested (especially near the half because the half ends and two relay exchanges are close by). Definitely run this one!
